Good bye, for now.
I wish you to see the world
And all the stars
That you are always happy
And never sad.
I wish you grow up in style,
Confident and loved,
Funny and kind.
And don't ever let the world
Grind you down.
Remember you are
the daughter of a goddess
(of memory and remembrance),
I will always think of you.
You are my most precious love
And regardless
My last thought will be of you
Carrying on
Being the perfect person that you are
Even after I'm long gone
And I'm not even a twinkle
In anyone's memory
You will endure.
I would have liked to have been
A little part of you.
That little toe which always got a kiss,
When I changed your socks.
Your little rosy nosetip when you cried
And to which
I held bob bob bob
my fingertip
The sparkle in your eyes when you ran around with friends.
The little hand which crossed the road in mine.
The swish swish of your underwater swim
Into my arms.
There was never anything
You could ever said or done
Nothing you will ever say or do
That would make me love you
-Not eve a pinch of fairy dust- less.
Your mamá loves you forever
I always did
I always will
It was never a choice
Even before you were born
Even when I had to let you go.
No matter how long we have,
No matter how the world turns.
Your light will always be my happiest place
Mamá te quiere mucho,
No matter what,
From here to Mars and back
And back again.
This is a poem dedicated to my daughter
